Wanting to GLOW for your wedding day? Getting a grip on your skin situation, wherever you are on the spectrum right now, will help you feel extra confident when your big day comes. And, let’s face it, all of the weeks and months leading up to it. With fresh, minimal makeup on trend, having great skin is a must. Perfection, of course, is never the goal, but skin that makes you feel great even without an ounce of makeup on is always a good thing. Give one of these five bridal skincare hacks a go and watch your skin transform! 1. Nightly Honey Masks Using raw, unfiltered honey on your face is one of the best ways to give yourself seriously glowing skin. Because honey is a natural humectant and has antimicrobial properties, it will provide intense moisture while clearing up acne. For best results, apply an oil-based pre-wash to your skin and then cover your entire face with a thin layer of honey. Not nearly as messy as you think (the honey literally washes right off), this nightly trick can completely change your skin in just a few weeks. And, even after one use, you’ll notice a difference in the way your skin feels. Be sure to use raw, unfiltered honey - if there’s anything else in the honey (like preservatives or sugars) this amazing skincare hack won’t work! 2. Gua Sha For any bride-to-be not overly excited to pierce their skin with needles, the gua sha tool is your new best friend. Easy to do yourself, gua sha tools are affordable, making them an easy addition to your current skincare routine. Known to treat acne and eczema, while also minimizing the signs of aging, this hack is crazy effective. There are a lot of different types of gua sha tools available in your local stores and online. And while it doesn’t seem like one is really better than another, two of the most popular options are gua sha tools made with rose quartz and and ones that are shaped to better contour your face (like the one used in the video link that follows). Use Ice Everyone knows that icing an injury will reduce swelling and inflammation, but so many of us forget this wisdom when it comes to our skin. There are a lot of ways to take advantage of ice for your skin, but one of the best (and easiest) ways is to start washing your face each morning and night with ice water (the colder it is, the better). The super cold water gets rid of any puffiness, but it also tightens your pores and reduces and soothes inflammation, including acne. 4. Salt It Last minute zit have you worried? As you know, popping it is the worst thing you can do. The best option? Make a paste out of sea salt and water and apply to the spot. Let the paste dry for up to an hour before rinsing it off and see a visible difference immediately. Wedding photographers will do their best with lighting and angles to make you look your best, but it’s not uncommon to talk to them about their editing and what it includes.
