Okay, so I’ve decided to make a post about the word cheap in relation to wedding photography. Mainly because people search google for “cheap wedding photographer” but no one really wants to be known as cheap because of the connotation! So, since I’m the affordable wedding photographer in OKC maybe I can find a classy way to be the cheap wedding photographer in OKC too! The origin of cheap is the Latin word: caupo which meant “small trader, in keeper” if I were to modernize that I’d say it meant small business owner- which I am! The word then evolved from caupo to the Old English cēap which meant “bargaining or trade” which modernized could be doing business, making good deals- also something that relates to me and my wedding photography! From Old English to English it became: good cheap which meant “a good bargain” and with all my prices under $2000 I’d say that’s a pretty good bargain! Into the late 15th century it was softened to: cheap
Overall the word cheap is used today to imply low quality and/or a low price. But going off of the original meaning and use of the word, I’m proud to say I’m a cheap wedding photographer. And I’m excited to change the word from meaning low quality to high quality wedding photography at an affordable, cheap, bargain price! For all the OKC couples brave enough to search for a cheap wedding photographer in Oklahoma or OKC, I hope you find this post so that you can get high quality wedding photography at an amazingly affordable and cheap price!
